A global investment company that manages multiple alternative asset portfolios through its strategic partners, is looking for a Vice President, Human Resources for their Japan market, based in Tokyo.

Reporting to North Asia Head of HR and engaging closely with the executive and management team in the Japan office, this individual contributor is expected to,

  • Take lead of and support all HR related matters for their investment and operations teams in Japan
  • Address business issues related to strategic workforce and target employee segments development and productivity
  • Lead and develop workforce plan and talent management activities
  • Support talents' recruitment & retention and partner with the Finance team on budgets & forecasts for people leaders
  • Resolve employee relation matters and make recommendations on HR policies and practices where necessary
  • Support organisation effectiveness by implementing solutions aligned to the overall people strategy
  • Support on building key organizational capabilities and employee engagement activities
  • Provide coaching and support on performance management, staffing issues and champion change management
  • Handle significant employee life cycle events including and not limited to onboarding and redundancy
  • Support in developing D&I strategy, policies and plans tailored to the assigned market, and ensure respective initiatives are in place to create an inclusive working environment

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in reputable university
  • At least 12 years of HR generalist experience, at least 5 years' proven HRBP experience in renowned global investment banks
  • Assertive, agile, collaborative and humble, with ability to think strategically and tactically
  • Collaborative and proactive with high energy level and outstanding solution driven mindset and capability
  • Highly professional, assertive and articulated individual, who is able to perform independently
  • Resourceful and communicative team player who is comfortable to deal with ambiguity
  • Consistently adopting strategic and hands-on approach to coordinate resources to driving targeted results
  • Excellent critical thinking, judgement making, and analytical skills, whilst possess a commercial and advisory mindset
  • Skilled in multi-stakeholder management with high EQ to work in a fast-pace and dynamic environment
  • Ability to coach and influence senior leaders, and has the strength in building relationships across matrixed organisation
  • Business fluency in both written and verbal English and Japanese
