Technical Manager (EU sports / activewear brand)
My client is a EU sports / activewear brand, who is looking for a Technical Manager to lead the current technical team. Reports to General Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise the technical team to ensure performance of suppliers meet the company's standards
- Work closely with the design team from HQ to ensure development packs are well executed
- Supervise the garment fitting, material approval, and quality management operations
- Manage vendors quality performance accordingly
- Responsible for proto, fitting and pre-production sampling approval process
- Risk Assessment for new product development and production
- Build strong relationships with the HQ technical and design teams and communicate effectively on potential / ongoing issues to align expectations and solutions
- Be accountable for the team's performance and be part of the strategy building team with the top management
- Keep up-to-date with new product innovation in the market and capabilities of the suppliers to bring new knowledge to internal teams
- Train, develop and motivate your team to ensure consistent high performance
Requirements:
- 15 years or more in related experience in garment technical positions with well-known, large sized retailers
- Minimum of 5 years at manager level or above
- Must have strong technical knowledge across related product categories in garment and fashion accessories
- Strong knowledge garment construction, fabric knowledge would be a plus
- Experience working at companies well known for top-level quality standards would be highly preferred
- Strong English and Mandarin both written and spoken
