Senior Garment Technician

My client is a US fashion retailer, who is looking for a Snr Garment Technician due to business expansion. Experience in Sportswear is important. Reporting to Technical Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guide and share technical knowledge on fitting, quality, risk mitigation and time management with the team
• Compile, analyze clear fitting comments in Centric
• Uphold design inspiration from 1st Fit though to PP Approval.
• Own technical development of styles for allocated category, collaborating with global technical teams and Hub cross functional partners to make sure fit consistency across various collections
• Provide guidance and support internal teams with fit knowledge, best practices around SOPs, communication and turnaround time management
• Evaluate garment construction and quality to identify possible risk and testing required, alternative solution to eliminate risk
• Proactively providing technical design solution to potential concerns.
• Follow and uphold SOP internally and externally
• Maintain SCFT score cards seasonally, coordinate with manager to provide quarterly evaluation reports on vendor technical performance
• Build strong relationships with our vendor and cross functional partners
• Lead and participate communication with cross functional teams sharing knowledge, aiding better alignment
• To participate projects to create and define new SOP and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or above in Technical Design, Pattern Grading or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of fitting, pattern making, grading, construction, testing and pad development experience
• Experience in coaching teammate is plus
• Knowledge in PLM
• Knowledge of garment fit and ability to instruct vendors
• Knowledge of bonding, sewing and molding techniques, stitch properties and overall garment detail
• Strong MS Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
• Fluency in English
