Head of Operations, Asia Pacific

Our client is one of the leading players in the industry which headquartered in the US. They have almost 100 years of history and still keep on expanding their scope. They are now looking for a Head of Operations to look after their Asia Pacific region.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire back office functions including Finance, Admin, Human Resources, Shipping as well as IT departments
  • Report directly to the Managing Director of the business
  • Lead a team of 30 staffs in HK & China
  • Lead on decision making, transaction processing and internal controls across the group
  • Develop Group financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans and opportunity forecasting
  • High-level financial reporting and analysis, developing management reports with KPI tracking in order that decisions can be made effectively
  • Manage bank relationships, ensuring fluency of communication. Where necessary, requesting business loans and preparing supporting documentation
  • Conduct robust transfer pricing and financial analysis via a hands-on approach
  • Formulate and deliver possible tax planning, tax compliance and value chain optimization
  • Achieve tax and value chain efficiency through restructuring business operations and intercompany transactions
  • Drive various cost saving measures to monitor the cost to shipment ratio
  • Review Finance operation workflow and identify opportunities for automation, better control, eliminate overlapped process
  • Develop business process for newly set up business line
  • Business insights and reporting - deliver accurate data and reports in a timely manner in order to support key decisions and strategy
  • Standardize HR policy across Hong Kong and China offices
  • Streamline shipping function from China to Hong Kong

Position Requirements

  • Degree or above in Accounting, preferable HKICPA, ACCA member or equivalent
  • 15+ years of all-rounded finance & accounting experiences in sizable MNCs
  • At least 5 years or above experiences in managing other back-office functions like HR, Logistics, IT & Admin
  • At least 8 years or above solid big team management exposure
  • Prior Sourcing industry exposure is a MUST
  • Big 4 audit background is a definite advantage
  • Strong in developing strategic plans to support business initiatives
  • Top-notch quantitative and analytical skills; ability to find structure, logic, and insight in complex business problems to provide meaningful conclusions
  • Ability to structure documents and quantitative analyses to effectively communicate with senior management
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, analytical focused organization
  • Mature, well-organized, independent with strong sense of responsibility and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills - fluency in English, Mandarin & Cantonese is a MUST
