QA Manager (Apparel)

A leading global retailer has been going through rapid business expansion for the last few years, and they are now looking to further strengthen their well-established and highly successful sourcing business in Hong Kong. They are in need of a candidate with solid and all-rounded knowledge and experience in QA for their apparel business, you will manage the QA team and report into the apparel sourcing director.   • Ensure all QA operations run smoothly and accurately, manage potential risks and errors and resolve accordingly should they arise
  • Provide key guidance and directions for the team on their daily operations and develop the talents under your disposal


  • Build and structure your team and ensure the right and necessary resources are used effectively
  • Assist in driving the operation to assist the company's business strategy
  • Assess all potential risks in the operation and products
  • Draw up required preventive action plans to ensure quality performance is high
  • Train, develop and reinforce your team on their awareness of workflow guidelines and communication channels
  • Review inspection and lab test reports and support when necessary
  • Manage the fitting and technical aspects as well as quality control and management
  • Ensure approval processes are being run smoothly - including colour, lab test and fitting
  • Improve and maintain a high level of quality performance by reducing rejection rates on required approvals
  • Lead the team of technicians in building up specs, size set and PP sample fitting and review 3rd party fitting reports to ensure the approval process is clear and efficient


  • Bachelor degree or above in textiles, garment technology/engineering
  • 8 yrs of above in relevant experience with at least 5 yrs at managerial level
  • Must have experience working for major global sourcing companies, preferably from mass market brands/retailers
  • Must have strong knowledge across quality assurance, garment fitting, lab test management and inspection arrangements
  • Must speak English and Chinese, other European languages welcomed too
  • Must be a manager who is also willing to be hands-on and open-minded - which are the key culture of the company
