Manufacturing Planning Director

A leading US watch and jewelry retail group is looking for a leader to their manufacturing planning team of 10-15 in their Hong Kong sourcing office.

Reporting to the SVP of business, your responsibilities will include:

• Management of capability improvement on a global scale for various categories under the group
• Design and implement the category-level planning capability based on demand scenarios
• Manage operational improvement in the process of supply planning, supply chain network design, production and sourcing operations and logistics management
• Build and create platform to achieve business goals and targets from a productivity and cost saving viewpoint, help reduce complexity within the supply chain and improve speed
• Manage component inventory controls
• Recommend loading plan based on supplier capacity, performance, cost
• Work closely with key counterparts within the business such as the sourcing team, global planners, finance team, along with manufacturing partners
• Use detailed analytics across the business to drive lead-time management, on-time performance, forecasting and order management
• Lead, develop and maintain the team by education and training
• Implement planning and analytical tools with collaboration with IT
• Maintain master data in planning systems

Requirements

• 10+ years in planning positions or related for large sized sourcing companies
• Bachelor degree or above in business management, MBA, finance, Supply chain or related discipline Business, Financial, Engineering
• APICS Certification preferred
• Experience working in fashion and apparel, footwear and accessories is highly preferred
• Solid knowledge in factory operations, including product development, engineering, production line set up and control, outbound logistic and factory audits
• Strong with systems such as SAP/ IBP / APO / Navision
• Candidates based in Hong Kong / China currently are preferred
• Frequent travel required (up to 50%)
