ConnectedGroup is exclusively partnering with a Fortune 500 multinational consumer goods company to search for an Indirect Procurement Manager. The company is one of the most well-known brand names in the FMCG industry with a diverse portfolio of products.
This role is the potential successor to the Head of Procurement position, hence my client is looking for someone who is capable to lead not only the Indirect Procurement scope but also eventually the entire department (Direct + Indirect Procurement). You will initially have 3 direct subordinates working under you in the Indirect Procurement team; eventually when you take on the Head of Procurement role you will be overseeing the entire department made up of approximately 8 staff.
My client is looking for someone with, obviously, experience in Indirect Procurement, however the most important will be Marketing-related categories (e.g. Production House, KOL, Events, Marketing Services Agencies, etc.). They are not looking for an expert in Marketing Procurement, but the successful candidate must have had some exposure to the major Marketing sub-categories. It will be ideal of course if you possess experience in other Indirect Materials as well (e.g. HR, IT, other Corporate Services, etc.),although these will make up a smaller portion of the total spend size and probably less complex.
As the role is the potential successor of the Head of Procurement position overseeing both Direct and Indirect, it will be ideal if you have some experience in Direct Materials Procurement (any type of Direct Materials will do - not necessarily related to FMCG products). This is not a compulsory requirement though.
In terms of soft skills, the successful candidate is someone who demonstrates potential to be a good leader; someone who is assertive, straightforward, strategic, and who has exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
