Garment Technical Manager

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the fastest growing EU buying offices as their garment technical manager. Leading a team of 4-5 technicians, you will report into the general manager and be the key driver for leading the technical department.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise and develop the technical team
  • Provide a high level of garment construction, product creation and garment fitting knowledge and technical advice to the internal and external teams
  • Starting from the product creation and paper pattern, all the way to sample making and fitting and approval for production
  • Ensure that samples and final products meet the company's expectation in terms of aesthetic and quality
  • Be the key bridge between the HQ, the HKO and vendors by ensuring all parties are aligned in terms of process and expectations
  • Lead sample approval and continuous process improvement on the path from prototype to production
  • Provide key risk assessment and production feasibility reports to the QA and merchandising teams to ensure smooth transition
  • Work closely with current vendors on continuous improvement plans, and new vendors for on-boarding and expectation management on company's standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree of above in textiles, garment engineering & manufacturing or textiles technology or related discipline
  • Minimum of 15 years in garment technical, technical design and fitting related positions
  • Must have experience and knowledge in grading, pattern and fitting in garment and clothing businesses
  • Must have experience working at well-known and reputable apparel buying offices
  • Must speak and write excellent English and Chinese
  • Proficient in MS Office & PLM systems
  • Regular but not frequent travelling
