Garment Technical & Quality Manager

Senior Quality & Technical Manager

A leading European retailer is looking to grow their Hong Kong business by adding a high calibre industry expert like you to their well-established sourcing office. The company has a strong global footprint and is highly reputable. The right candidate will report into the global head of technical & quality, whilst leading a team of 15-20.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the QA and technical teams to ensure performance of suppliers meet the company's standards
• Work closely with the design team from HQ to ensure development packs are well executed
• Supervise the garment fitting, material approval, and quality management operations
• Manage vendors quality performance accordingly along with driving auditing and onboarding procedures
• Responsible for proto, fitting and pre-production sampling approval process
• Risk Assessment for new product development and production
• Build strong relationships with the HQ technical and design teams and communicate effectively on potential / ongoing issues to align expectations and solutions
• Be accountable for the team's performance and be part of the strategy building team with the top management
• Keep up-to-date with new product innovation in the market and capabilities of the suppliers to bring new knowledge to internal teams
• Train, develop and motivate your team to ensure consistent high performance

Requirements:

• 12 years or more in related experience in QA, garment technical positions with well-known, large sized EU retailers
• Minimum of 5 years at manager level or above
• Must have strong technical knowledge across all product categories in garment
• Strong knowledge garment fitting & construction are must haves, fabric knowledge would be a major plus
• Experience working at companies well known for top-level quality standards would be highly preferred
• Strong English and Mandarin both written and spoken
