Buying Director Asia (HKD1.2M)

A reputable lifestyle fashion brand is looking for a Buying Director to lead the all-round buying and retail merchandising functions.

Lead a remote team of 6-8 across Asia, this incumbent is expected to:

• Plan and implement product, pricing and assortment strategies to achieve set target and deliver appropriate brand positioning in all channels across retail markets
• Ensure smooth inventory throw through and clearance of stock for healthy stock holding
• Responsible for Sales and Net margin on all product categories in order to meet the EBIT target of all retail markets
• Identify and provide prompt action to potential risk and business opportunities
• Lead all the operational and buying process changes by strategical negotiation and communication
• Partner with regional counterparts to improve and enhance processes, system and product development
• Lead and motivate the team and develop succession pipeline to maintain the business sustainability
• Develop training materials and deliver programs on product and brand directions
• Assist and organize Go-To-Market strategies across different markets
• Partner with market leaders to identify market and channel needs to achieve company objectives
• Work closely with planning & allocation team and regional merchandising team to support global initiatives across markets

Successful candidates should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in a world's renowned university
• 10-20 years' experience in premium apparel brand at management level covering multiple markets across Asia
• Possess high degree of fashion aesthetic with strong sense about market trends
• Ability to work under a fast paced and team-oriented environment
• Strong in retail math with numeric sensibility and business acumen
• Strategic, analytic, influential and creative with excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
• Strong in Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
