A SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW |

This
short guide should assist you with the key points to preparing
for and conducting a successful interview. Your Recruitment
Consultant should be able to give you additional advice
on specific clients.
| PREPARE
FOR THE INTERVIEW |
- Arrange
for company literature and a map. Use the library
or the web-site to uncover additional information
about the company.
- Prepare
proof of achievements in life and your career
to date.
- Prepare
positive answers to some of the questions you
may be asked
- Prepare
intelligent written questions to demonstrate your
preparation.
- Ensure
you take everything you need for the meeting (certificates,
references etc. if requested)

Men

Dark
suit, white or blue shirt, sober tie and black shiny shoes
and dark coloured socks. White socks and/or comedy ties
will not get you the job!
No
earrings or jewellery.

suit or dress.

| THE
INTERVIEW |
- Arrive
15 minutes early.
- Turn
your mobile phone off! There is no reason you should
take calls during an interview.
- Greet
the interviewer with a smile and a firm handshake.
- Listen
to the questions. Answer the questions. Keep your answers
concise and positive.
- Maintain
positive body language, don't fiddle, tap or move around
a lot - nothing should detract from your presentation.
- Ask,
"Can I take notes". Then make notes to emphasise
your interest in the role and your professionalism.
- Ask
your prepared written questions.
- If
you do not have any questions at the end mention what
you would have asked and state that it was already answered.
Also use this opportunity to emphasise any relevant
achievements that were not highlighted during the meeting.
- Ask
about the interview process.
- For
sales positions make sure you close at the end of the
meeting e.g. 'so do you think my profile is a good match
for this position?
